About.

Everyone dreams of living in paradise, whatever that may mean to them, and John Stanton was no exception. Born and raised in New Jersey, he completed his high school education there. Throughout his life, he played football and baseball, heavily influenced by his father, a professional baseball player who also coached in their hometown of Collingswood. Despite his sporting background, John's artistic talents were recognized by his father, who secretly enrolled him in the Ringling Art School in Sarasota, Florida. John graduated in 1973, discovering his own personal paradise. Unfortunately, he left Florida and returned home, lured by a job offer from the Chilton company in Jersey. He spent a couple of years there, honing and defining his art and design abilities. Like any aspiring artist, he sought more experience and eventually moved to Kansas. Within a few years, John received an offer to work as an art director for the DBGH agency in Dallas, Texas, where he had the opportunity to work on major accounts for American Airlines, the Heart Association, and more. He also created recognizable logos for New Mexico, Chope House, and Blockbuster. John achieved great success and remained in Dallas for almost 25 years. Later on, he ventured into designing nightclubs such as The Spot, The Arcadia, Vimanna, Bebes, and the award-winning Iguana Mirage, voted the Best Night Club in the country. John Stanton also played a significant role in the collateral design for The Galeria in New Orleans. During president Clinton's term John was invited to White House for his birthday and viewed his art on display in the Oval Office. One of his proud accomplishments was winning an egg design competition, where he humorously recalls beating the renowned designers Alexander Julian and Bill Blass, saying, "it was not even close." After years of excitement and productivity, John Stanton realized he was missing something in his life – he had forgotten about his dream to live in paradise. He packed up his belongings and returned to Sarasota, Florida, where he settled down. There, he met his wife and had three beautiful children. Having left his artistic mark all over the world, including murals for walking clinics, Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the Sarasota Art Center, and various restaurants and residences, John Stanton spent the last two decades working in the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and Europe, specifically the Czech Republic. He also worked from his home, where he established his own studio and gallery. Although he maintains a low profile and claims to "lay low," anyone can find him on social media. Despite his reserved nature, John Stanton has a wealth of experiences to share, having truly found his paradise.
